Aikido (Japanese Martial Arts)

Schedule
Explanation of responsible etiquette within the Dojo→ Explanation of Aikido basics and practice→ Performance by instructor→ Practice with general students (one-to-one basis)→ take photos→ Clean up Dojo→ Cook lunch→ Take lunch

Aikido is a type of martial arts in which anyone can participate. Aikido masters in this Dojo (a place for practicing martial arts) will teach you many aspects of Aikido, for example, how to wear Dogi (training clothes) and how to bow. Once inside the Dojo, the instructors will teach you how to gird (make postures), basic movements and passive defense techniques. They will assist you with practicing.
After practice, all students clean up the Dojo, cook lunch and enjoy it together. This program is like a half-day homestay. Aikido is not about trying to win or defeat your partner- it is about trying to remain friendly and keep peace with him. Why not experience the spirit and techniques of Aikido yourself?
You will be awarded a certificate of completion made from Washi (Japanse handmade paper)from your instructor. This program may help you discover something new about yourself. If you want to continue with Aikido after you’ve gone back to your country, the instructor will even support you through the Internet!

Feedback from our paticipants:
"Very kind and helpful teachers. We had a very nice time learning Aikido." (American Female, 30s) ♦ "Very excellent. I really enjoyed eating lunch and talking to the sensei!" (American Male, 30s)

Mr. Tsuneo ando

Mr. Tsuneo Ando

Message from Mr. Ando
Aikido is a form of Japanese martial arts. The ultimate goal of Aikido is “to become integrated with the universe,” and this philosophy heavily influences the Japanese way of living. Would you like to experience what it means to live “in harmony with the universe”?

About Mr. Ando
Mr. Ando has published a book about Aikido in which he explains how to generate and use “central power”. A famous teacher who started the original Aikido movement “Yoshinkan Aikido” (Aikido that aims to develop the mind and spirit) taught Mr Ando. Mr. Ando’s success in martial arts helped his teacher gain a worldwide reputation as a famous, elite martial arts teacher.
