Japanese Incense Ceremony
Listening to Incense Japanese Incense Ceremony in a modernized style
The incense ceremony stresses listening to incense instead of just smelling it. It enhances one’s sensibility and mindfulness toward the fragrance of the incense and its material. In this session, you will learn the history and use of a variety of incense in Japan, and then participate in an incense ceremony. The experience focuses on listening to incense as a form of meditation, and helps you transcend the mundane. One goal of this experience is to free your spirit and foster your gratitude for living.
Ms. Eriyo Watanabe
It is a rare opportunity to experience Japanese incense ceremony. You will enjoy the sensitive fragrance of incense profoundly by sitting on the chair not on the tatami floor. Why do not you immerse yourself in a first-hand experience of the ZEN mind with serenity?
