Shinagawa

Shinagawa is a harbor city located on Tokyo Bay. Shinagawa is the connecting point for many other places in Japan, and therefore frequented by tourists. Shinagawa has many different train lines running through it including Narita Express and Shinkansen lines. This is why Shinagawa is a good place to come if you just have a couple of days to spend in Tokyo before continuing onto your next destination in Japan. Shinagawa Station is huge and jam-packed with great restaurants and bars to suit any traveler or commuter, who is waiting for the next train. It even has a department store where you can do some shopping while you wait for you train.

 

Shinagawa area has many businesses and hotels. There are not many tourist attractions here, but there are a few. An important establishment in Shinagawa, is not a tourist attraction, however an important place for non-Japanese who live in Tokyo, this is the Tokyo Immigration Center. If you are headed to the immigration center take the Konan Exit (East Exit) from Shinagawa Station, there will be signs pointing you to the bus stop take the bus to the Tokyo Nyukoku-Kanrikyoku Mae stop, which will be directly in front of the immigration center.
