A University Town with Musical Instruments, and Sporting Goods for Sale
Ochanomizu is one of Japan's most famous student hangouts, with numerous universities in the area.
This energetic part of Tokyo is also known as a music mecca: One can find classic instruments, electric instruments, all sorts of musical scores and music DVDs in Ochanomizu's many music shops.
Tucked in between the music stores and university hangouts are a large number of sporting goods shops selling skis, snowboards - all sorts of gear for all sorts of sports.
This student town also connects with Jimbocho and its dozens of used bookstores. Wander the streets of Ochanomizu, and you're likely to bump into an important cultural asset or some other attraction. This busy district has plenty to offer the tourist.
Look out the train window and across the canal on the way from Ochanomizu Station to Ichigaya Station for a relaxing scenic view of Tokyo.
