Area Information
Nippori
Nippori is another place, which is convenient because of its train station. It is only 2 stops away from Ueno on the Yamanote Line, and it also has direct trains to Narita Airport on the Keisei Line.
The Nippori Station is not very impressive at all, in fact since it is under construction; it looks out of date, compared to other stations. However, if you take a few steps outside of the station you will take a step back in time. Outside the station is a quiet and unassuming neighborhood, where you can walk along the streets without the crowds of Shinjuku or Shibuya. There is a beautiful cemetery, a temple, and a little shopping street that are defiantly worth taking a look at. There are also a couple of non-Japanese restaurants that have quite a personality for a place where the small-town feeling envelops all.
