Trendy and High-End Town

Walking around this area you will pass by many shops with English names. You will also see trendy cake shops. There is a complex in Jiyugaoka called Sweet Forest, which is very popular for it’s cake shops. After being open for only four and a half months Sweets Forest had more than 1,000,000 visitors. There are so many tasty looking cakes and pastries you just want to eat them all!

Jiyugaoka took over a very traditional festival from the good old days and turned it into a new festival that is jam-packed with various attractions. In the course of a year they have various events. Among all of the festivals the Goddess Festival, which is held every year in October attracts the largest number of people. Many events are planned for the scores of people who attend. There is also a very unique free bus that runs on the oil collected from the households and stores.
